A brilliant bar in Islington, The Old Queens Head is always churning out something better, something new, something fantastic. I was here last Saturday for some drinks with my friends and – I can’t say this enough – was blown away by the vibe, the music and the gorgeous people in the bar. We had a fantastic time – the cocktails were fabulous, my girlfriend loved the flirtini and I couldn’t get enough of the sloe gin fizz and the bar staff were top class. The Old Queens Head is undoubtedly one of the best bars in London and we will definitely be coming back again.

A fabulous party venue in north London, the Queens Head lives up to it reputation as one of the best live music venues in London. I had one of the best birthdays ever and will recommend to anyone who loves great music & good food.

I always knew that the Queens was one of the better bars in Islington, but was not entirely sure of its reputation for pub food. So when I went down to the Old Queens Head for a Sunday Roast with my girlfriend I was taken totally by surprise. I had some roast beef with the usual trimmings & my girlfriend had some butternut squash with Yorkshire puds etc. Simply put, it was fantastic. One of the best Sunday roasts we have had in a long time. I like my meat medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection, the roast potatoes were crisp, just how it should be with the gravy heightening the flavour of the meat. My girlfriend had similar words of affection for her food. We loved the whole experience and would completely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing Sunday with some brilliant home cooked food.

A lovely Sunday at a lovely pub in Islington. I’ve lived in and around North London most of my life and am surprised I didn’t come upon this gem earlier. The Old Queens Head is a good old boozer combined with chic bar and live music venue. Me and my best girl decided on getting a Sunday Roast and stumbled on this place as we walked down the high street. The decor was relaxing, big couches and leather sofas, the bartenders were smiley and the food was delish! What a great way to end a tiring week and start another! The music was quite different from those in usual pubs, a bummer I could attend band nights earlier, but I picked up a flyer on my way out and am definitely coming back for me. Value for money and a great place to relax. Old Queens Head, you’ve just won a fan.

Just the right mix of glamour and cool make The Old Queen’s Head one of the best bars in Islington for eating, boozing, dancing or simply just chilling out on one of the outside tables after a hard day at the office.

The ridiculously beautiful bar staff and similarly gorgeous clientele would be enough to put some of us plebs off were it not for the friendly ambiance and pleasant surroundings. And when the neon sign lights up, you know there’s something worth doing upstairs. Bags of character and great atmosphere, the Queen’s is well
worth a visit any night of the week.

One of the best bars in Islington, The Old Queens Head has been around forever and constantly betters itself. Not content just being a local pub, they also have live music acts and well known DJ’s (last week was Snow Patrol) lining up their evenings. Whether it be a casual dinner or night out, the Old Queens Head is bound to give you a good time.
