Is it too early to be getting carried away with the weather??
How many people spent the last few days’ staring out of office/uni/school window’s wishing they were outside? Loads I bet.
Is it too early to be thinking of the summer? Are we being typically British and getting over excited too early? Like we do when Andy Murray gets to as grand slam final, or England go 1 nil up against a superior opponent at a World Cup….. probably.
Will this ever change? No. Will we always feel let down when our dreams of a heat wave summer never materialize? Yes. Do we care? Not at all! Why?
Well many reasons – one of which is because every summer someone releases a record that manages to make us believe all the above has come true, that we are the best football/tennis/cricket playing country in the country, that we are experiencing the hottest summer in years and that it won’t rain at Glastonbury/Reading.
So what are the ultimate summer records? One’s that when you hear them again bring back rose tinted nostalgia memories of hazy summers gone by?
